Panda Hut... One Chilled Panda WIP 1

In this post I'll be sharing the progress of my latest project: Panda Hut. I wanted to practice interpreting other people's concept art in 3D. I also want to add some environments to my portfolio, so I headed to the wonderful world of Art Station and found this piece by Sylvain Sarrailh  (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PmExA4).

To those that maybe thinking, "Isn't it 3D anyway?", according to the listing it was created using only photoshop and has been tagged as "Traditional 3D".

Here's my progress so far! Majority of the block modelling is done. For the time being I've used plain lambert shaders. I plan to use photoshop for texturing in addition to learning substance painter and designer which is completely new to me. I also intend to build the scene in Unreal Engine - another new software for me to learn!

If anyone has any feedback or advice feel free to comment - all is welcome and appreciated!

Time Saving Pillow Tip!!!!

For those who ever need to model pillows, using the very short video below, you can use a cube + dynamics to create a pillow of varying shapes. It makes it a lot quicker and easier having that base to then sculpt and change to make unique.
