The first part of today's session was looking at what makes a sidekick a sidekick and designing props for given characters that would fit in their world. I was given Tigger from Winnie the Pooh and gave Tigger gangster aesthetic props: chains, tank top, snapback, saggy jeans, wrist chains and thumb ring. After the first attempt (right) I was advised to make him even more fun/silly/goofy as that's what kind of character he is and I did my best at that by exaggerating and making it look like he's playing dress up (left).
The next activity was looking at cultural influence for characters and sets like Star Wars, for the task we were given a culture and told to put our spin on it to design a sidekick. I got Polynesian/Middle Eastern culture but only managed to come up with this guy (below).
