A Time Apart: Shot 1 Refinements and Ambient Occlusion Test
Yesterday, (but didn't get the chance to post), I refined my animation for the first shot (for the purpose of my internship showreel) and tested AO composited with my render to see if it was worth my time to batch render before hand in. Conclusion: it doesn't really make much of a difference in my case and my style doesn't really require it. I still need to fix the lighting so that Doris doesnt have a shadow line going down the middle of her face and I want to try an optimize as much as I can before moving onto finishing blocking out Act 1 this weekend.
Before
Colour corrected and AO composited
I know its a bit slow but, in the final edit I plan on speeding it up a tiny bit.
Hi Paris. Looking much much better. Two small 'finishing' tweaks...
1) At the end when Fred turns his head have his shoulders/upper body rotate/twist more towards Doris (still a little ridged). Try looking right and then turning your head left, your shoulders/upper body go with the head. 2) This one is very small but when Fred head has finished turning towards Doris, close her mouth. It will finish the shot.
