I feel like I'm struggling with sounds and audio for this despite looking at Dr Seuss examples, I have used some cartoony sounds from www.freesfx.co.uk, I'm not sure if the SFX and music together is going to be too much with the narrator when I get round to sorting that out, or if my music choice is wrong for this. I used 2 tracks for the music and have tried to blend so it flows but I don't know if I can get away with that not being noticeable or ruining the track as a whole. I've posted 3 versions of the animatic, one has SFX only, another is Music only and the third has both together.
Also could you give me some advice for working with a professional narrator please - I have no idea where to begin or what to do.
Hi Paris - I think music and SFX is the way forward, but I'm not a fan of this music because it's not cartoony enough - it sounds like we're watching a corporate video or something telling us about 'great coffee' or something. I think it needs a bit more 'zaniness' right?
ReplyDeleteIn terms of voice over artists - look in the Sound resources file in myUCA under this unit - you'll see websites re. voice-over artists - but you should also take a look at https://www.fiverr.com
Essentially, you find someone who you think can do the job the way you want, and then you contact them, and then the negotiations begin - I tend to help students craft their emails in the first instance to ensure the tone is right.
Hi Phil, thanks for the advice. I've been hunting for a good sound track but all the zany comical ones have too fast of a tempo which I can see conflicting with the narrator, so for now I'm going to stick with the first sound track and have that one consisting throughout.
