    Hi Paris,

    Thanks for putting together such a comprehensive OGR. In future, you only need to provide urls linking back to your Maya stuff etc, as opposed to putting this content into your project-specific OGR. You don't want all this content coming before the required content of the OGR.

    I'm impressed by the level of thinking and imagining you've recorded in response to your various cities. There is enthusiasm here and a clear trend for making stories. This is all good stuff, but I think you're 'off brief' in terms of your choice of Armilla - or rather your treatment of Calvino's city. You've pushed the project into a character-based place - what with your emphasis on Armilla as an actual nymph and that whole elaborate back story about living tattoos and poisoned humans. This tells me lots about your interests, but poor old Calvino has been sidelined a bit - remember your actual job and your actual brief; you're a concept artist challenged to bring one of Calvino's city's to life; his text is not a jumping off point for a completely different kind of story. You haven't been asked to design creatures, you've been asked to think about Armilla as the subject for some environmental concept art. You're calling it a 'cursed city' - but I don't think that level of negativity is supported by Calvino's text, which actually describes a much more whimsical, more dreamlike place.

    That said, some of your Armilla thumbnails are very exciting - the complexity of pipes - but the other ones depicting humans running and dying in the pipes belong elsewhere.

    There's another example in your OGR when you're allowing your own interests/preferences to cloud your judgement in regards to the brief; when you talk about Isaura, city of wells, you admit that you don't like wells personally, and therefore you'd depict Isaura as a 'dark place'. This is a great example of what I'm talking about. Professionally speaking, your feelings about wells are totally irrelevant; your job is to reflect Calvino's vision for Isaura, to understand it, to translate it. What you think about wells is of no interest to your client (i.e. me) harsh, but true.

    I think you need to look again at what Calvino is telling you about Armilla and step away from your elaborate backstory a bit - or risk making personal work that is 'off-brief' and outside your role as a concept artist for someone else's production. Let me know if that makes sense?
